Celebrate the End of DC’s Private Prison Contract

For the past 20 years, one of D.C.'s jails, the Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF), has been operated by CoreCivic, formerly known as Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the largest private prison company in the U.S. In March, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the city would resume operation of CTF when CoreCivic's contract expires at the end of January 2017.
