Urge the President to ‘Ban the Box’ for Federal Contractors

bantheboxSign this letter urging the President to extend ban the box to the nation’s federal contractors who employ one in four U.S. workers.

Today, over 40 million people are employed in one of the seven states and over 10 major cities (including Baltimore, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle) where private sector employers are already obligated to comply with a ban the box law.  Thus, there’s plenty of precedent for executive action regulating the nation’s federal contractors.

Partners, including All of Us or None/LSPC, JustLeadershipUSA, the ACLU, the AFL-CIO, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, PICO National Network, PolicyLink, and the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, are helping to renew the call for federal action by signing the support letter linked here (respond no later than Thursday, April 21).
