On March 5th, Senator Kamala Harris wrote a letter to Federal Bureau of Prisons director, Michael Carvajal, requesting information regarding the BOP’s preparations at their facilities and prisons in response to the Coronavirus. Due to the rise of the Coronavirus and the danger it poses to the incarcerated population, on March 19th, Senator Harris sent a follow-up letter to the BOP urging the BOP to take steps to protect the incarcerated population against the threat of Covid-19.
