Law for Black Lives is excited to announce the release of our report “Freedom to Thrive: Reimagining Safety and Security in our Communities.” This report examines the budgets of 12 different cities and counties across the country, detailing the misguided and racially discriminatory choices of local officials, who consistently spend more money on police and jails than on supportive services such as education, employment or health.

Law for Black Lives co-wrote the report in partnership with Center for Popular Democracy and Black Youth Project 100, along with over a dozen base-building organizations.
If you want to take action and support the work of groups across the country to transform local budgets:

1) Read and share the report

2) Join us on Monday, June 10th at 7pm EST for a webinar about the report and ongoing work around invest/divest.

3) Let us know that you are interested in invest/divest work and we will be in touch about what you can do to support local and national efforts!
