Vera’s fact sheet shares lessons learned from the development and implementation of Vera’s Unlocking Potential: Pathways from Prison to Postsecondary Education project—which established postsecondary programs in three states—and includes recommendations on developing college-corrections partnerships, ensuring quality in postsecondary education programs, and supporting education post-release. The release of the fact sheet coincides with the completion of the first phase of review for institutions seeking to participate in the U.S. Department of Education’s Second Chance Pell Pilot Program.
