JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties of the Chief include managing all aspects of day-to-day operations of the Conviction Integrity Unit. The Chief oversees all unit assignments, including post-convictions, modifications, and violations of probation as well as staff scheduling of collateral matters scheduled in court. The Chief oversees staffing of expungement reviews and hearings in Circuit Court. The Conviction Integrity Program is a sub-unit within CIU that the Chief oversees. The Chief manages the CIP and works closely with the CIP staff who are devoted full time to reviewing claims of factual innocence that have been submitted extrajudicially to the SAO. Within the role, the Chief will regularly participate in relevant local and national trainings in continuing the development of the conviction integrity prosecution area. The Chief will advise on proposed legislation affecting post-trial and conviction integrity matters. The Chief will oversee the SAO exoneree assistance program and will ensure facilitation of the continuing monthly support network meetings.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and organized with the ability to work collaboratively. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated aptitude in conducting investigations, including being detail oriented, a skilled multitasker.

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and a balanced perspective is required. Felony jury trial prosecution experience to verdict is required.

 

SALARY:

$84,822 – $135,651 + full benefits package.
