“When I was a young college student, I was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted. I reported the assault, and a man named Ronald Cotton was arrested, charged, convicted, and sent to prison. For many years I believed that justice had been served. I was wrong. Ronald was innocent, and my real attacker had not only alluded justice, but had also committed additional crimes while Ronald sat in prison. The system failed me, failed Ronald, and failed the additional victims of my actual attacker.”
