Elsie L. Scott, Ph.D., shares her experiences and feelings about the historical and systematic police brutality that exists in the foundation of the American criminal justice field. Scott’s view as a Black woman seeking a different ending to the deaths of Black people at the hands of police officers. Scott writes, “America, America, please convince this Black woman that this time the change will be real and lasting.”
