McConnell Pushed on Criminal Justice Reform

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is being urged by a coalition of Kentucky civil rights and religious leaders to allow a vote on reducing mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent federal drug offenders.

“Advocates say the legislation —called the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act— is supported by a cross-section of conservative and liberal proponents and provides McConnell with an opportunity for bipartisan agreement on a critical issue of criminal justice reform.”
