Survey results from Benenson Strategy Group on attitudes of African Americans and Latinos to be released in tandem with policy “Roadmap” report detailing path forward
WASHINGTON — April 26, 2016 — Groundbreaking research on people of color and their attitudes about the links between gun violence, policing and incarceration will be released at the National Press Club on Thursday, April 28alongside a new policy-based “Roadmap” report that lays out a series of solutions for gun violence in urban communities. The Benenson Strategy Group (BSG) research and accompanying report will be released by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, the Urban Institute and the Joyce Foundation.
Joel Benenson will present his organization’s findings and leaders from all three organizations will discuss the “Roadmap” report, which was born from their series of convening in three cities hard hit by gun violence – Richmond, VA; Milwaukee, WI; and Stockton, CA.
The media briefing will be followed immediately be a panel discussion on the findings and their implications for future community engagement and policy.
