The United States is home to the largest prison population on earth. Many prisoners are there on nonviolent drug charges. These individuals do not necessarily present an imminent danger to society. The danger to our society lies in our unsustainable incarceration rate, with overflowing prisons, and hardworking taxpayers footing the bill.
