Cyntoia Brown Is Freed From Prison in Tennesse

Cyntoia Brown was sentenced to life in prison for killing a man while she was a teenage sex trafficking victim. After serving 15 years of a  life sentence, she was granted clemency in January and released August 7, 2019. Ms. Brown’s story made national headlines, raised awareness of the plight of trafficked young people and inspired a push for criminal justice reform in Tennessee.
