About the Congressional Briefing:

The American Civil Liberties Union, the Center for American Progress, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Hu-
man Rights and the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation are co-sponsoring this panel discussion to address

some of the misconceptions about the federal criminal justice system and current reform efforts. With the widespread

public support and bipartisan efforts in Congress for criminal justice reform, it is imperative that there are discussions

focusing on the truths about federal criminal justice reform by providing the facts and dispelling the myths surround-
ing the federal prison system. The speakers on this panel will discuss the recent Charles Colson Task Force findings

and recommendations, as well as the 2014 National Research Council of The National Academies report, “Growth of

Incarceration in the United States.”

Lunch will be served. For more information and to RSVP, please contact Zack Brown at WLO_ZB@aclu.org.
