‘Echoes of the Invisible Woman’ Spoken Word Poetry Fundraiser
June 28, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

The Sentencing Project invites you to a Community Family Life Services fundraiser to benefit women returning home from prison. “Echoes of the Invisible Woman” Spoken Word Poetry Fundraiser will feature stories of formerly incarcerated women’s first hand experiences. Stories of survival, perseverance and revival.

Each year approximately 20,000 persons return home to our region from serving their time in prison. Most of these men and women will experience great difficulty in managing basic necessities for successful reentry into society. Difficulties in finding work and housing, reuniting with their children and family, and even accessing health and mental health services that are crucial for recovery. Community Family Life Services works to give returning citizens a fighting chance at success.

The Sentencing Project’s Marc Mauer will provide the keynote address.
