BloomScreen and Africa World Now Project present Winnie by Pascale Lamche (2017, 98 min, South Africa/France/Netherlands/Finland)to commemorate South Africa Freedom Day (April 27) and in remembrance of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.  The documentary, Winnie, pieces together and properly considers Winnie Mandela’s life and struggle to bring down apartheid from the inside, with intimate insight from those who were closest to her and Winnie Mandela herself; and with testimony from the enemies who sought to extinguish her radical capacity to shake up the order of things.  This film is about the real Winnie.
