Black & Brown on Blue: Piercing the Police Wall of Silence
January 24, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm EST

Policing Accountability Event Flyer

RSVP here

Heroic activists have pushed for change in policing for years, but recently push has come from police officers themselves. The NYPD 12, and the PG13, are current examples. In 2015, 12 people of color officers filed a landmark class-action lawsuit in NY over illegal policing quotas. In 2018 13 Prince George’s County police officers of color filed suit, accusing the department of discrimination and retaliation for reporting other officers’ bad behavior.

WHEN WILL THE GOOD COPS FINALLY SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE BAD ONES? The award-winning film, Crime + Punishment, chronicles a group of Black & Latino whistleblower cops & the young people they are pressured to arrest in NYC. Risking their lives & careers, they covertly gathered the evidence needed to bring their employer to court as depicted in this powerful and suspenseful film.
