Rob Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois turned inmate serving a 14-year sentence, believes it is time for prison reform, stating that ““Tough on crime” policies and mandatory minimum laws have led to overcrowded prisons, unfair sentencing and wasted taxpayer dollars. Instead of creating a system that punishes and dehumanizes inmates, let’s create a system that rehabilitates prisoners and prepares them for life outside of prison.”
