We are pleased to announce the 2017/2018 launch of the Open Society Foundations’ Soros Equality Fellows.  As you may know, the Soros Equality Fellowship seeks to support emerging mid-career professionals to become long-term innovative leaders impacting the racial justice field. The Fellowship award includes a grant of $100,000 over the course of 18 months. The fellowship program recognizes the unique power of individuals to catalyze social change and we are seeking a diverse pool of individuals employing a variety of creative advocacy strategies, including but not limited to; the arts, community organizing, technology or law to uplift the mission and values of an open society. We’re inviting applicants to be bold, innovative, and audacious in their submissions. The proposed project should add considerable value to the racial justice field and inspire new approaches to address issues of disparity and discrimination.

What’s Expected
The fellowship program provides an opportunity for individuals to become a part of a growing national community of Soros Equality Fellows sharing strategies and ideas through conferences, networks and organized events hosted by the Open Society Foundations. Selected individuals for the program must commit 35 hours a week to their fellowship project which must begin in Spring/Summer 2018.

Letters of Inquiry (LOI) are due by December 20, 2017 (11:59 p.m. EST) and may be submitted online here.  From the initial pool of LOI’s, we will select a limited number of applicants to submit full proposals. Full proposals are accepted by invitation only.
