“The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Texas death row prisoner Duane Buck, allowing him to pursue a new sentencing trial. The court ruled that Buck’s trial lawyers were ineffective when they introduced testimony suggesting that he was more likely to be dangerous — and thus more deserving of a death sentence — because he is black.”
