“At Koch Industries we have chosen to take a stand in more ways than one. About 18 months ago we officially banned the box on our application but even before we officially banned it, we always followed Equal Employment Opportunity Commission advice of doing a fact based analysis based on applicant, the offense, when it happened, and the job at issue. We are among the inaugural signers of the White House letter asking businesses to voluntarily consider removing the box that requires employees to check if they have a criminal record. Finally, we have begun an #EndTheDivide campaign to contribute to a meaningful and substantive discussion — one that is currently absent from the political conversation — in a way that gets people thinking about how these issues affect their lives.”
