Senate Law Enforcement Caucus Briefing on Youth Mentoring in Law Enforcement
June 22, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT

Senators Roy Blunt and Chris Coons, Co-Chairs of the Senate Law Enforcement Caucus, invite members and staff to an upcoming briefing entitled Youth Mentoring in Law Enforcement Wednesday, June 22, 2016 2-3 p.m. in the Russell Senate Office Building: SR- 485.

This briefing will provide an opportunity for members and staff to hear from panelists about law enforcement initiatives aimed at developing youth mentoring programs in the communities they serve. Law enforcement agencies across the country have initiated their own youth mentoring programs, or partnered with youth focused community organizations, as a way to engage and interact with young people. These youth mentoring programs allow for dialogue and partnerships to develop between young people and law enforcement officers. There will be an opportunity for Q&A.
Speakers will include U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, U.S. Senator Chris Coons, and on-the-ground perspectives from:  Chief Jim Bueermann, President, Police Foundation; Donald Northcross, Founder, OK Program; and Orrin White, Assistant Director of Community Engagement, United Way of Delaware.
