Webinar: Realigning Criminal Justice in California and Beyond
February 29, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am EST

The Economist has called Realignment in California “one of the great experiments in American incarceration policy.”  The Realignment policy adopted in 2011 has resulted in a large-scale shift of correctional resources and supervision from the state level to local counties.

Please join The Sentencing Project and the American Academy of Political and Social Science for a webinar on assessing the impact of Realignment, and its implications for decarceration nationally.

This webinar will highlight key findings reported in the current issue of The Annals, “The Great Experiment: Realigning Criminal Justice in California and Beyond, “ co-edited by Charis Kubrin and Carroll Seron of the University of California, Irvine.

Presenters:

  • Marc Mauer, The Sentencing Project
  • Margo Schlanger, University of Michigan
  • Ryken Grattet, University of California – Davis
  • Magnus Lofstrom, Public Policy Institute of California
