The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools with Monique Morris

The Raben Group hosts its Power Lunch Policy Pulse April 15 featuring Monique W. Morris is co-founder of the National Black Women’s Justice Institute and writes regularly for Ebony.com.

Morris is a leading voice in the national effort to curb the overcriminalization of Black girls, and her expertise has been called upon by the White House Council on Women and Girls and the Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s National Girls’ Institute. She is the author of “Black Stats: African Americans by the Numbers in the Twenty-First Century,” (The New Press) and lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two daughters.
