Justice Roundtable Convener Nkechi Taifa & others to be honored at NACDL gala
Tickets and sponsorships are available now for NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice’s (NFCJ) annual Gala, October 7, 2021, at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC.
Join us as we celebrate the NFCJ’s 20th anniversary and the life-changing advocacy supported by the foundation with the theme Building on the Past, Imagining the Future.
During the evening, we will present Nkechi Taifa, criminal justice advocate and Principal and CEO of The Taifa Group LLC, with the Champion of Justice – Legal Award.
And Carrie Johnson, National Justice Correspondent for National Public Radio, will receive the Champion of Justice – Journalism Award.
As a special part of the evening’s program, Norman L. Reimer, Immediate Past NACDL and NFCJ Executive Director, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and will be honored for his vision and stewardship of NACDL and the NFCJ over the past 15 years.
In addition, the International Legal Foundation will receive the 2021 Champion of Public Defense Award, and the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico’s Juvenile Justice Program will be presented with the 2020 Champion of Public Defense Award, which was delayed due to the pandemic.
