|Now is the time to rethink public safety, renew community trust, and create a 21st century policing model by and for communities. We hope that you’ll join The Leadership Conference Education Fund for the launch of our Policing Campaign and the release of the New Era of Public Safety guidebook and toolkit, bringing community organizers, law enforcement and government together to discuss strategies for putting communities at the forefront of public safety.
The March 28 launch event will include a panel featuring Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson, with The Washington Post’s Wes Lowery as moderator. The event also will include remarks from The Leadership Conference Education Fund president and CEO Vanita Gupta and the Center for Policing Equity Co-Founder and President Phillip Atiba Goff.
Panelists will discuss the guidebook’s recommendations, the role of community voices, and the importance of collaboration in public safety decisionmaking. The program will include time for audience Q+A, followed by a reception.
