2019 Annual Conference on Independent Living

NCIL 2019 National Conference about 3,5000 members in town!

Sunday, July 21 – Thursday, July 25, 2019 – the program will be up next week.

July 26th is the 29th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)!

Monday, July 22, 2019 – is the kick off for our conference and we are proud to announce that our amazing speaker will be Nicole Austin-Hillery, Executive Director, US Program Human Rights Watch!

Please let your interns, staff members and others know that they are more than welcomed to join us on our annual March and Rally! This has been described as a life changing experience! If you have never attended an accessible march and rally – it is something to participate in! “Our Homes, Not Nursing Homes”  “Disability Rights = Civil Rights”

Date: Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Time: 9:00am – line up in the Grand Hyatt Hotel – DC – line up with your state or DC or with a country represented

*We march from the Grand Hyatt  – DC  on H St NW – to the Capitol – (please bring water and lunch as lunches are provided for attendees of the conference)

*After lunch – we host our rally where members of the House and Congress come out to speak to the crowd about disability rights and issues! Last year we had 27 members speak!
