10th Annual “From Prison to the Stage Show” at the Kennedy Center

FREE Kennedy Center Show – “From Prison to the Stage”  Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at 8:00pm at the  John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC in the Family Theater.
MICHAEL BROWN, former DC Councilmember, will Host this year’s production.

Actor David Tucker will portray a talented prison writer. He joins other professional actors who portray prisoners who have not lost their dreams, their humanity and their sense of humor despite prolonged incarceration. Please click video below to see Mr. Tucker’s earlier portrayal of James Earl Jones.
“From Prison to the Stage” at the Kennedy Center is FREE and no tickets are needed. The prisoner-written multi-media show with a cast of 18 will take place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, this Saturday evening, September 1, 2018 at 8 PM.
There will also be a free giveaway of original prison art to all who attend. The art was made in prisons across America and sells in art galleries for as much as $200 per piece. All audience members can have their choice of this original, one of a kind art after the show.
There will be a free bus shuttle service to the show. The bus will leave from Foggy Bottom Metro to the Kennedy Center every 15 minutes.
“From Prison of the Stage”  is a production of the Prisons Foundation and the Safe Streets Arts Foundation. The producer of the show is formerly incarcerated person and current director of the Prisons Foundation Dennis Sobin. The director of the show is Rose Baham who is the executive director of the Safe Streets Arts Foundation. Ms. Baham formerly toured internationally with a well-known music and dance company. Both her brother and current husband are formerly incarcerated persons.
